Meet the Candidates: 1L Secretary-Treasurer
What is Queen’s Law to you?
Queen’s Law to me is a community of intelligent individuals who all have their own specialities and skills that come together to create something special. This department allows all of us special students to come together in a place that accepts us for our differences and intricacies and allows us to flourish. By allowing us to be who we are, it allows us to grow and discover ourselves in terms of the legal system, without having to change ourselves to fit a pre-determined mould. In general, Queen’s Law is a special place for special people.
What do you hope to achieve in this position?
As Secretary-Treasurer I hope to be able to work within the machinations of the student political system and add my skills to make it that much better. I hope that I can improve the actions of the council through the indirect methods of financing and budgeting. I hope to benefit the 1Ls in any way possible through this position, be it directly or indirectly.
What makes you the best choice for this position?
I think what makes me best for this position is my ability to work both as an individual but also as a group. Be it working by myself on the council’s books or working with the council to best allocate the budget towards the year’s events, I will give it my all.
